Then clinical pilates is for you!


Pilates led by a physio is a fantastic tool for those who don’t feel like they quite belong in a gym, or for those gym goers that just need to fill the gaps in their program. We see a lot of people who have extensive injury history, or are managing multiple injuries in our pilates classes.

We can’t call this just “pilates” which is why we often term it “clinical exercise”. There are a few reasons for this, the first one is that we are approaching this from a clinical perspective, i.e. what can we do to nurture and prevent injuries in this person in front of us and how can we help as physiotherapists. The second is that we perform an assessment before you join us in class, and all your exercises are individualised. And thirdly, health funds wont let us call it pilates any more! We aren’t doing anything different than before, we are still delivering hand-picked, physiotherapy based and “pilates informed” exercise in a clinical space.

We incorporate whatever else you need in your rehabilitation space. Need to do squats holding weights to help your knee OA? Sure! Let’s get it done in class so you don’t have to worry about rehab when you get home. Need to do some foam roller releasing after sitting at your desk for too long? Definitely! Let’s get on top of that thoracic tightness before your neck starts to hurt.

There is a maximum of THREE people in a class, so you will not get lost. If you’re feeling more energetic, we can push you, if you’re feeling stiff and stuck, we can adapt to it on the day. You will be listened to!
