Running Routes - Barangaroo

New years resolution still going strong?

Below I have a few options for running routes around Barangaroo, head straight out the office door with the joggers on and go! After a warm up, of course…

Wait, warm up?! YES! Jogging slow for the first kilometre is not a warm up.

Best option for your warm up is to get your blood pumping with a fast walk or very slow jog, then do some dynamic stretching e.g. high knees, butt kicks, open the gate, shut the gate, “emus” or pretending your scooping something off the floor with straight legs and calf pumps. Then you can start your proper run, it will only take a few minutes and is so helpful for your body.

Here are some options for you - starting from the shortest to the longest:

  1. Small loop above Barangaroo reserve - 650meters

Nice small loop at the top of Barangaroo reserve, there is stairs to get up there, or a lift at the Southern end

2. Bigger loop around Barangaroo reserve - 1km

Longer loop around Barangaroo reserve, relatively easy and lovely views the whole way round, you could combine this with the small loop +/- your run from the office

3. Barangaroo to Kirribilli and return - Enjoy those views over the bridge! 6kms

Leave straight from the office and head through the city, I like the eastern/rocks side and then you can join the bridge via the stairs, depending on how you’re feeling on the other side, stay at the top of the stairs above Milsons Point station, or go down to extend the run

4. Barangaroo to Circular Quay via the Piers and return - approx 10km

A Longer run, but possibly the best view of them all, enjoy the Barangaroo views before heading out along the Walsh bay Piers, include them all for a longer run, or skip them for a shorter one. You can turn around anywhere near the rocks/Circular Quay depending on the length of run you want

Happy running.
